We had another visit at the midwives' today and we heard one of the gentler sounds that will soon fill our house, the baby's heart beat. Good and steady, right around 160 bpm which made us both very happy of course! If getting sick on the beltway on the way to a big birthday date-night and ordering pineapple pizza after a craving that started at 9:15 in the morning didn't remind us that everything is still just fine, now we're back to feeling like it's real.
In other news:
- We met a new midwife today, Wendy (our visits are rotated among all of the midwives in the practice to make sure we'll have met each of them before the baby comes). Wendy is one of the reasons we chose this practice, so it was nice to meet her!
- Today we are twelve weeks and the baby is the size of a plum.
- Last week we officially kicked-off our "nesting" when we got rid of the queen bed and had a ceiling fan installed in the nursery... this weekend we'll clean it out and Tim will start installing the crown molding, closet doors, and painting.
Thanks for all the prayers and encouragement! We are looking forward to more exciting updates as things progress.
I like the baby ticker!
